Katherine Russell

Katherine is a Certified Claris FileMaker Developer in all available versions and has authored several technical white papers as well as the FileMaker Sync Guide for Claris. She has supported developer training around the globe and presented at multiple FileMaker developer conferences.

Katherine works directly with all people involved in the projects she takes on — users, decision makers, and other stake holders, as well as her fellow developers, including those she mentors. Over the past several decades, she has delivered solutions to wide variety of industries, including Finance, Aviation, Health, Education, and Manufacturing. As Senior Developer at Beezwax, she leads projects from initial project design through development and deployment, including adaptation of existing systems to new business goals and integration requirements related to FileMaker.

Inspired by the experience of helping clients and other developers achieve their business and technical goals, Katherine is passionate about the magic of coaching. Her aim is to help people create their vision by being a supportive, encouraging and resourceful partner in change. Combining that with a fascination with all things tech, she supports AI developers and users to save the world from bad robots (technically, the ethical development and use of AI systems). 

Katherine is originally from Groton, CT (semi-famously half-way between New York City and Boston). She moved to Orlando to get warm ("it worked"), and then to Melbourne, Australia ("one of THE best places on Earth") to collaborate with Ray Cologon on FileMaker development and worldwide training. Now on a mission with her family to test every home organizing technique on the internet, Katherine resides amongst the vibrant beaches of Virginia, USA.

Outside of work, coaching and organizing, Katherine thinks deeply about the nature of existence and wonders, "Why are we all not laughing?" She is a passionate cook and eater, loves photography and contra dancing and critters and plants of all kinds, and aspires to keep up with her speedier friends on their bicycles.
